About the Role
Install, maintain, improve and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices ensuring production efficiency can be met within a safe well-presented facility. Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Responsible for multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative original solutions where results are key to successful completion of major projects. Work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.
- Maintenance
++ Lead, plan and perform preventative maintenance activities through the facility/ASRS equipment to carry out the standard maintenance schedule so as to minimize machinery breakdowns. ++ Responsible for monitoring, updating, and improving the planned maintenance and ensure that progress is executed as planned. Plan the required tools/spares and equipment to carry out the job efficiently. ++ To liaise, with the store team for planned PM to book the time slot and manpower required to support with the required work ++ Undertake the training of others on preventive maintenance as required. ++ Ensure corrective and condition-based maintenance tasks are completed on time without fail. ++ Prepare required overhauling spares depending on the machine condition. ++ Monitor the quality of PM performed by contractors for the facility assets. ++ Discus with the contractor the details of the required projects while liaising with Site Engineering Manager and Facility Engineer. ++ Support Facility engineer to execute required facility jobs to ensure best condition of facility and its equipment. ++ Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales ++ Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard ++ Actively utilize continuous improvement methodology to progress the maintenance function ++ Independently determine approach and assigned tasks
- Health & Safety
++ Ensure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all health, safety environmental and quality management procedures are followed and achieve the company’s and departmental KPI targets ++ Personally demonstrate safe behavior and take responsibility for the management of health & safety of engineering staff and contractors ++ Support a culture that enhances behavioral awareness to reduce accidents and “near misses”. ++ Ensure all maintenance jobs are conforming to food safety and quality requirements
- People Management
++ Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians ++ Provide leadership and assistance to less experienced technicians and apprentices ++ Provide a communication point for the team and provide a proactive feedback process between the technicians and management
- Reporting
++ Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management. ++ Ensure that the weekly report/presentation is updated on time and the required actions are planned for the reported issues. ++ Update spare parts log and communicate for replenishment
Requirements
- Skills & Qualification:
++ Educational level: Diploma in electrical/Electromechanical/mechatronics engineer or similar with 3 years of relevant experience ++ Commercial understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery ++ Practical hands-on approach to problem solving. ++ Understanding of preventative maintenance and TPM ++ Root Couse analysis and coming up with practical solutions. ++ Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.
