About the Role

The Multi Welder is a highly skilled and certified tradesperson capable of performing high-quality welding across various materials, positions, and welding processes, as mandated by the project and the stringent Aramco standards. This role typically requires proficiency in multiple welding techniques to join different types of metals (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel) and perform complex pipe or structural welds.

Duty: Room to Room (Accommodation and transportation are typically provided as part of the total compensation package/duty arrangement, often door-to-door or camp to job site.)

Vacant Positions: 01 NOS

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi-Process Welding: Execute high-quality welds using multiple welding processes, which typically include:
    • GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / TIG) for root passes and high-integrity welds, especially on stainless steel or critical piping.
    • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding / ARC/Stick) for fill and cap passes on various materials, or for general fabrication.
    • Note: Proficiency often includes welding in all positions, such as 6G (pipe fixed at a 45-degree angle).
  • Adherence to WPS: Strictly follow approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and relevant industry codes (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) while performing all welding tasks.
  • Weld Preparation: Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and ensuring proper joint fit-up as prepared by the Fabricator.
  • Weld Inspection: Visually inspect completed welds for defects (e.g., porosity, cracks, undercut) and ensure they meet the required quality standards for subsequent Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve welding-related issues, such as equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies.
  • Safety and Environment: Comply with all work permit requirements, safe welding practices, fire watch duties, and environmental regulations on site, particularly those mandated by Saudi Aramco.

Mandatory Requirement

  • Aramco Approval is mandatory for both positions. Candidates must possess valid, current approval/certification recognized by Saudi Aramco for their respective roles.
