As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of electrical systems for large-scale engineering projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that electrical designs meet client specifications, regulatory standards, and project timelines. This role demands technical excellence, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes and standards
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs
- Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and draftsmen
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies
- Support project managers in planning, budgeting, and scheduling design activities
- Conduct site visits and inspections to validate design implementation and resolve technical issues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical design, preferably within large infrastructure or building projects
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage design workflows independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written with the ability to deliver clear presentations and reports
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical simulation tools is preferred
