About the Role
The Scrap Purchasing Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement of scrap and recyclable materials essential to the smelter’s operations. This role requires a strategic professional with strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, and compliance awareness. The officer will oversee supplier relationships, evaluate pricing trends, and ensure that all purchasing activities align with company objectives, environmental standards, and customs regulations. The position demands leadership, organizational efficiency, and the ability to balance cost-effectiveness with quality assurance in sourcing scrap and waste materials locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers in local and global scrap markets.
- Conduct price analysis and market research to secure competitive deals.
- Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and environmental regulations governing scrap import and trading.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier networks to guarantee consistent material availability.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement strategies with production needs.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
- Lead and organize procurement team members to achieve operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in scrap and waste trading markets (local & international).
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a focus on cost optimization.
- Knowledge of customs and environmental regulations related to scrap trading.
- Leadership and organizational abilities to manage procurement operations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
