Assistant Rig Supervisor | Offshore

In a close and direct supervision job holder Assists Drilling Rig Supervisor in monitoring, controlling , support drilling and workover operations on a 24 hours daily basis. Assists on directing and monitoring contractor’s activities at assigned rigs. Ensures optimization of operational processes whilst controlling drilling materials and supplies with set policy, procedures , standards and Drilling Rig Supervisor directions

Skills:

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures. monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner based on Rig Supervisor guidance.

• Day- to-day operations

  • Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Drilling Operations Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

• Coordination With Contractors

  • Liaises with contractors to discuss and coordinate daily drilling & work over operations. Assists the Drilling Rig Supervisor in monitoring & inspecting contractors’ activities to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract. Drafts to the Drilling Rig supervisor any discrepancy between contract and actual work to the Supervisor.

  • Reviews, checks and compiles daily work /field service reports prepared by contractors on work progress . Drafts report to the Rig Supervisor.

  • Prepares and issues service orders to ensure smooth operations

• Drilling Operations

  • Follows up Drilling Rig Supervisor directions in order to coordinate and support drilling & work over operations, rig move ,anchor handling/tug/supply boats and helicopters’ activities at onshore/offshore on a 24 hours daily basis.

  • Receives instructions from Drilling Rig Supervisor, and drafts reports to him. Orders, coordinates with service contractors for material supplies and operational services as instructed by Drilling Rig supervisor.

  • Reviews and checks drilling and workover programs. Provides operational procedures in close supervision with Drilling Rig Supervisor at all steps of drilling & workover operations . Ensures the activities are carried out in accordance with the Company’s policies , procedures and Drilling Rig supervisors’ instructions.

  • Reviews and checks daily drilling and workover operation report. Checks and verifies drilling parameters, material supply and consumption, costs, and other associated information. Drafts operations summary or status reports as instructed by the supervisor.

• Material Control

  • Tracks Drilling Rig Supervisor instructions to Support procurement of services and material supplies in accordance with approved operation programs . Coordinates logistic supporting activities and ensures operations are adequately and timely supported with required resources for timely completion of tasks as instructed.

  • Follows Drilling Rig Supervisor directions to Monitor resource consumption during execution of drilling operations and activities.

• Contracts Management

  • In close supervision Coordinates with contractors and supports Drilling operations under execution by external service providers to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract. Drafts Report discrepancies between contract and actual work.

  • Reviews, checks & compiles daily work reports prepared by contractors on work progress and drafts status reports to the Supervisor.

• Reporting

  • Drafts & prepares daily drilling and work over operation report including various drilling parameters, material supply and consumption, costs, and other associated information.

• Safety, Health & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

• Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

Education

• Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering
