To provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve an organization’s operations

Skills:

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

• Day- to-day operations

  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for Internal Audit Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

• Internal Controls

  • Reviews, evaluates, and tests the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal controls of functions and activities in accordance to professional auditing standards with a view to identify areas of potential weakness to be controlled

• Audit Planning

  • Prepare the audit planning memorandum including the audit objectives, scope of work, audit timing, and risk analysis

• Audit Programs and Coverage

  • Prepares the Audit programs to ensure adequate and comprehensive coverage of the audit objectives, scope of work, and other identified audit risks

  • Determine and apply the auditing procedures and techniques testing to ensure:

    • Reliability and integrity of information
    • Compliance with policies, plans, programs, procedures, laws, and regulations
    • Safeguarding of assets
    • Economical and efficient uses of resources
    • Accomplishment of established objectives and goals for operations or programs

• Observations and Recommendations

  • Documents and reports all audit observations and makes recommendations for improvements in operating efficiencies or tightening of internal controls

• Budget Preparation

  • Prepares identified areas of expenses where budgets will be allocated to ensure that appropriate budget will be included in the company overall budgeting exercise

• Reporting

  • Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards (including maintaining the necessary working papers as support documentation)

• Safety, Health & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

• Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Education

• Bachelor degree in Accounting Degree, and preferably professional Auditing certification ie. CIA, CA
