About the Role
To study causes of corrosion and to recommend preventive and corrective measures for protection of facilities against corrosion. Prepares and completes the technical aspects of corrosion related tender documents and reviews tender documents prepared by contractor. Supervises and inspects contractors' work to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco standards and international standards (e.g. NACE)

Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
- Participate in various meetings with Supervisors of other departments to discuss the status of construction and modification of the oil production facilities, to establish priority procedures for the corrosion protection

Day- to-day operations
- Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Project and Engineering department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Corrosion Studies, Analysis and Measures
- Studies causes of corrosion and perform corrosion and metallurgical inspection of facilities and studies fracture, corrosive actions to study destructive and corrosive actions and other problems of deterioration
- Determines preventive, counter and corrective measures for the protection of production, loading and utility facilities.
- Prepares scope of work, specifications, drawings and technical aspects related to corrosion,
- Renews tender documents and provide comments and recommendations for design engineering, construction and modification of facilities for approval of the tender.
- Checks and evaluates specifications, drawings and technical parts of tender documents submitted by the contractor or supplier for design engineering, construction and modification of facilities
- Installs and maintains the corrosion monitoring system to institute preventive and corrective measures
- Studies new technology and applications of corrosion protection engineering related to oil handling facilities, and collects data for new projects.
- Performs water analysis in the corrosion laboratory, to determine the corrosion condition of the formation water and process fluid
- Consults with the Specialist in the department regarding highly technical modifications or installations.

Budgets
- Prepares and controls the budget for all projects in corrosion control section.

Troubleshooting
- Studies and inspect any failure analysis problem to prepare the recommendations for corrective action and counter/preventive measures
- Consults with other engineers concerned for studying and solving problems related to corrosion protection engineering
- Studies the status of construction and modification of the Oil Production facilities to establish priority procedures for corrosion protection

Supervision of Contractors work
- Supervises and inspect contractors’ work in engineering to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract, Company’s and international standards
- Monitors their work performance to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract and company’s international standards
- Reports discrepancies between contract terms and actual work to Chief Engineer

Training and Development
- Supervises the junior staff for the corrosion monitoring and water analysis works in order to give them instruction and knowledge for the work completed on time
- Consults with other engineers concerned to study and solve problems related to corrosion protection engineering

Technology
- Keeps abreast of new technology and applications of corrosion protection engineering related to oil handling facilities and collect data for new projects
- Consults with the specialist in the department regarding highly technical modifications or installations
Education
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering
