DCS Engineer

Design and troubleshoot complete DCS/SCADA system. Coordinate between various facility disciplines. Review Contractor and Vendor documents. Prepare bid packages. Create, maintain and inspect all technical documents related to the plant DCS such as operational and maintenance historical records.

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

• Day- to-day operations

  • Assists the related operation sections to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures in day-to-day operations.
  • Troubleshoot to determine faults due to hardware or software failures.
  • Assist Maintenance and operations in testing & commissioning activities & provide training to fellow Engineers.
  • Attends meetings with operation staff to review the status of operation activities and take corrective actions.
  • Carries out studies for control system modification to improve the system.

• Shutdown Planning

  • Participates in the planning of shutdown in order to ensure smooth and timely execution of systems shutdown and maintenance.

• Maintenance Operations and Projects

  • Provide Operation staff with technical advice on process and maintenance work in order to recommend changes in specifications and/or drawings when required.
  • Assists and participates with operational staff in trouble-shooting and report the problems to be resolved technically by routine maintenance Division (OMD).
  • Coordinates all short and long maintenance plans and programs with the assigned units.
  • Ability to analyse and determine correct installations for DCS, PLC, MLC, etc.

• Reports

  • Reviews periodical reports prepared by related sections to ensure compliance with Company and section requirements, policies, procedures and standards. Also, recommends any changes needed to meet operational needs
  • Prepares weekly, monthly and annual operations and maintenance reports on the operational plants.

Education

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
