Inspection Engineer

To supervise the activities of the integrity assessment studies for company and facilities and the survey and inspection for offshore facilities (sub-sea and above sea structures) performed by the company or contractor. Reviews and assists in performing the required engineering assessment studies for plants or facilities. Assists in the required activities for upgrading T&I system from one-time contracts to long term contracts.

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

• Day- to-day operations

  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the corrosion department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

• Technical Support

  • Provides technical support to Operations, Maintenance and Project Engineering, Construction department in resolving problems concerning the relevant discipline and inspection
  • Makes frequent visits to Operations libraries, sites or maintenance projects to collect operating and design technical data for static equipment and structures to support KJO production facilities
  • Tracks and reviews work done by external contractors doing the inspection activities to ensure reliability and control

• Project Planning

  • Reviews new project scope and specifications to plan and prepare the section resource requests
  • Prepares, plans, schedules and provides work direction for contract and company employees.

• Training and Development

  • Ensures adequately trained and certified personnel are available to meet any surges in workload
  • Trains inspection trainees in their respective discipline in order to review new projects and specifications

• Engineering Standards and Practices

  • Stays abreast of the latest developments in equipment inspection, engineering standards, codes, practices, procedures, methods and inspection equipment as applicable
  • Assists supervisor of the Operations Inspection Section in integrity assessment for T&I interval study, upgrading of T&I contract system and developing new standards of improving existing procedures as required

• Reporting

  • Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for section in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards

• Safety, Health & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

• Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Education

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
