To conduct in-depth analysis of materials and inventory issues and concerns in order to come up with probable solutions that would address problems within the division, such as improvement in material control systems, inventory rationalization and other cost reduction programs

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

• Day- to-day operations

  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Material Control Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

• Market Surveys

  • Conducts market surveys in both local and foreign markets by sending requests to potential supply sources, and receiving price lists, quotation and other market information in order to keep material price estimates in line with prevailing market conditions.

• Standard Stocks

  • Assists supervisor in the analysis of standard stocks, MRP parameters, utilization pattern and inventory figures in order to make reliable demand and consumption forecast, and anticipate execution of action plans.
  • Administers periodical physical Inventory counts and prepare relevant report to ensure existing actual stocks matches records

• Scrap & Write-Offs

  • Assists in analysis and preparation of scrap & write-off material list for slow moving, damaged, expired and unusable stock items, and preparation of required tendering documents for write-off material sale/disposal.

• AFE

  • Coordinates with proponents and CPD in securing new AFE approvals and/or amendment for Purchase Requisitions inadequately covered by budget.

• End User Support

  • Renders technical support to end users through discussion and actual participation in working teams on matters related to material standardization and material-related matters.

• Material Specifications

  • Analyses all Application for Material Master Creation, and creates material master in a standard format to ensure that data to be captured in Purchase Requisitions are complete and correct.

• Purchase Orders

  • Assists purchasing section in replying to inquiries from potential bidders regarding specification review, bid/sample evaluation and other technical matters in order to ensure acceptability of offers.

• Reporting

  • Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for section in order to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards

• Safety, Health & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

• Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Education

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
