To conduct lab analysis, test samples, and evaluate results to establish operational parameters while providing lab support in order to ensure that facilities are in good operational condition, efficient testing and sampling is undertaken in compliance with government regulation

• Policies, Processes and Procedures

  • Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

• Day- to-day operations

  • Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
  • Trains and mentors other lab technicians to build capability of other team members to conduct accurate and effective testing

• Lab Testing

  • Receives, checks, accepts, and registers related samples to ensure appropriate tests and analysis are undertaken
  • Discuss purpose of analysis and performs testing of samples to ensure accurate and reflective results according to proponent department needs

Lab Results

• Reviews and interprets results of tests to evaluate results and help establish optimum operational parameters

• Lab Handling

  • Performs minor repairs, adjustments and calibration for laboratory apparatus to ensure that apparatus is kept in a safe and efficient working condition
  • Investigates and submits recommendations to supervisor on various operational problems, related to the environment and water quality analysis to acquire data for process control and verification of product quality

• Reporting

  • Compiles monthly and final reports on tests performed to ensure supervisor’s review and action taken
  • Contributes to the preparation of timely and accurate departmental reports which conform to Company and department requirements, policies and standards

• Safety, Health & Environment

  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures in the section in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment

• Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Education

• Bachelor degree in Microbiology
