About the Role
We are looking for a Head Butcher to oversee the operations of our butchery department, manage a team of butchers, and ensure the quality and efficiency of meat preparation and handling.
Job Responsibility:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of butchers in cutting, trimming, packaging, and displaying meat products.
- Train butchers on meat cutting techniques, food safety standards, and customer service.
- Ensure the quality, freshness, and proper storage of all meat products.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special orders.
- Monitor and enforce health and safety regulations in the butchery department.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a professional butcher, with prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- In depth knowledge of different cuts of meat, butchery techniques, and meat processing.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meat handling.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long hours and lift heavy meat cuts.
