About the Role
The Electrical Engineer oversees the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems within industrial and petrochemical facilities. This role ensures reliable power distribution, safe operation of control systems, and compliance with SABIC electrical standards. The Electrical Engineer supports both construction and operational phases, ensuring uninterrupted plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review electrical systems including power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, lighting, grounding, and instrumentation interfaces.
- Supervise electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at site.
- Conduct load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and system studies.
- Ensure compliance with SABIC standards, NFPA, IEC, and industrial safety regulations.
- Coordinate with civil and design teams to integrate electrical systems into overall plant layouts.
- Inspect electrical works, verify material quality, and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and progress updates for project management.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Expertise in industrial electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in electrical design tools (ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
- Strong understanding of SABIC electrical standards, safety rules, and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in SABIC projects with proven field and design exposure.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multi‑disciplinary project environments.
