About the Role
The Pipe Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of piping systems used in industrial operations. This role ensures the integrity, safety, and efficiency of pipelines that transport fluids, gases, and chemicals within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and maintain industrial piping systems according to engineering specifications.
- Inspect pipelines for leaks, corrosion, misalignment, or structural issues.
- Perform repairs, replacements, and modifications on pipes, fittings, valves, and supports.
- Interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs to execute work accurately.
- Conduct pressure tests and ensure system integrity before commissioning.
- Collaborate with mechanical and maintenance teams during shutdowns and major projects.
- Follow strict safety protocols, especially when working with pressurized or hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Piping Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
- Experience in industrial piping (SABIC, oil & gas, petrochemical) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of pipe materials, welding basics, fittings, and industrial standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and isometric diagrams.
