Steel Fixers

Steel Fixers are responsible for preparing, cutting, bending, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement used in concrete structures. Their work forms the backbone of industrial and civil construction projects, ensuring structural strength and long‑term durability. Steel fixers interpret engineering drawings and bar bending schedules to assemble reinforcement accurately before concrete pouring. Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings, rebar schedules, and technical specifications.
• Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using manual and mechanical tools.
• Position reinforcement steel accurately within formwork according to alignment requirements.
• Tie rebar securely using appropriate tying tools and techniques.
• Install spacers, chairs, and supports to maintain correct reinforcement spacing.
• Coordinate with carpenters and concrete teams to ensure readiness for concrete pouring.
• Inspect reinforcement work to ensure compliance with project standards and tolerances.
• Maintain tools and ensure safe handling of steel materials.
• Follow safety procedures when working around heavy machinery and sharp materials.
• Report discrepancies or structural concerns to supervisors.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of reinforcement techniques and structural alignment.
