About the Role
The NDT Technician is responsible for performing specialized nondestructive examinations on materials, components, and industrial equipment to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with technical standards. The role requires strong technical understanding, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and the skill to operate various NDT tools and techniques. The technician plays a critical role in identifying defects, preventing failures, and supporting the overall reliability of operations within the industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nondestructive tests using approved NDT methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, or other specialized techniques.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection procedures.
- Prepare inspection reports, document findings, and communicate results to supervisors or engineers.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Maintain NDT equipment, tools, and calibration records.
- Identify defects, discontinuities, or irregularities in materials and recommend corrective actions.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to support operational reliability.
- Follow strict quality‑control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable inspection results.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of NDT methods and inspection tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand engineering specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
