About the Role
To support Operations in complex troubleshooting, unit performance assurance and optimization, long term improvements and development of studies
Job Key Accountabilities:
- Comply with Sharq policies and SHEMs / OMS procedures and contribute to achieve target SHE rates as well as comply with quality procedures and Sharq ISO certified standards.
- Provide process ‘know how’ support for plant upset. Perform complex trouble shooting, and support plant in startup and shut down.
- Ensure plant process integrity through a well-defined operating envelope.
- Perform complete project feasibility studies and project package development and follow up for the status of assigned studies on weekly and monthly basis with all process engineers.
- Participate in management of change committee (MOCC) as a member.
- Prepare study Scope and ensure it meets the requirements of plants. Prepare, review and consolidate all the approved studies concept.
- Assist the process manager in any additional duties assigned.
- New catalyst techno-economical evaluation, selection. Performance monitoring catalyst and supporting plants in troubleshooting problems.
- Initiate/apply technology adaption opportunities and best practices.
- Monitor the quality of all utilities and advice operations in case of deviations. Monitor the efficiency of steam boilers& water quality.
- Perform Plant overall monthly performance report/monitoring and advice operation on area of improvement
- Maintaining Furnace design Conversion and Yield without affecting the run-length of cracking operation
- Maintaining Hydrogenation Reactors’ catalyst selectivity within design range without loss of desired products
- Manage the communication with the Licensor, Technology and innovation (T&I), other affiliates & vendors.
- Carryout process modeling as required to support of optimizing and modification requirements.
- Carryout all required studies portion his role in S&E committee as per MEMS 06.08 and MEMS 06.09.
- Groom young process engineers & monitor their progress and act as mentor/body engineer to develop them and validate their progress on continuous basis.
- Handling all required Process communication with Licenser, SABIC Technology and innovation (T&I) Vendors.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor Degree on chemical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Job Specific Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, procedures and legislative process.
- Excellent communication skills, personal rapport and motivation are required to effectively coach internal staff and work with outside groups.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills and experience applying technology through teamwork.
- Maintain confidential and proprietary information.
- Process Simulation skills.
- Experience in relevant plant (OLF, Glycol, etc.)
