Rigger Level 3

A Rigger Level 3 is a highly skilled professional responsible for supporting complex lifting and rigging operations in industrial and construction environments. This role is essential in major energy projects—particularly in regions such as Jafurah—where heavy equipment, structural components, and industrial materials must be lifted, moved, and positioned with precision and strict adherence to safety standards.

Rigger Level 3 personnel work closely with crane operators, lifting supervisors, and safety teams to ensure that all lifting activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Saudi Aramco regulations. Their expertise in load calculations, rigging tools, and safe lifting techniques makes them a critical part of the operational workforce on oil, gas, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Rigging Operations & Equipment Handling

  • Inspect, prepare, and maintain rigging equipment including slings, shackles, chains, hooks, and lifting accessories.
  • Ensure all rigging tools are certified, in proper working condition, and suitable for the load being lifted.
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling rigging setups for cranes and lifting machinery. - Secure loads using appropriate rigging methods to ensure safe lifting and movement.

• Lifting Coordination & Load Management

  • Guide crane operators using standard hand signals and radio communication to ensure safe and accurate load movement.
  • Verify load weight, center of gravity, and balance before lifting operations begin.
  • Monitor lifting activities to prevent hazards such as load swing, instability, or equipment interference.
  • Position heavy materials—such as pipes, steel structures, and machinery—according to project requirements.

• Safety Compliance & Hazard Control

  • Follow all Saudi Aramco lifting and safety procedures, ensuring full compliance with site regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and report unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
  • Assist in preparing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Lift Plans when required.
  • Maintain safe working distances and enforce exclusion zones during lifting operations.

• Team Coordination & Communication

  • Maintain clear communication with crane operators, lifting supervisors, and safety officers throughout operations.
  • Support supervisors in planning lifting sequences and determining the safest rigging methods.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and pre‑lift meetings.

Required Skills & Professional Knowledge

• Saudi Aramco Certified Rigger Level 3 (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of rigging equipment, load charts, and lifting techniques.
• Proficiency in crane signaling, load securing, and safe lifting practices.
• Ability to inspect rigging tools and identify defects or unsafe conditions.
• Experience working on industrial, construction, or oil & gas project sites.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in demanding outdoor environments.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness.
