Security Operations Director

The role holder is responsible for supporting the implementation and enforcement of Specialized’s cybersecurity framework by leading operational monitoring and response activities, overseeing Security Operations Center (SOC) functions, and ensuring effective threat detection, incident handling, compliance, and system hardening. The role ensures all cybersecurity operations are conducted in alignment with GM directives and in compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards. The role holder shall carry out their duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor 24/7 the Specialized networks, systems, applications, and integration with MCN clients’ systems to proactively detect, mitigate, and manage cyber threats and vulnerabilities, in alignment with the directives of the GM.
• Operate and supervise the MCN Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure real-time monitoring, incident detection, and response to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities in adherence to defined SLAs.
• Schedule and implement regular SOC simulation drills to enhance readiness and improve incident response effectiveness, in alignment with the directives of the GM.
• Apply and enforce security controls across network assets to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory mandates, and internal cybersecurity protocols.
• Identify, evaluate, and address infrastructure vulnerabilities by reviewing system configurations, applying patches, and coordinating remediation plans through routine assessments.
• Conduct penetration testing and security assessments for MCN networks and MCN/BCN devices and applications, ensuring adherence to encryption, access control, and compliance requirements, in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Consolidate and prepare regular reports documenting findings from penetration tests and vulnerability assessments, and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
• Investigate historical cybersecurity incidents and breaches in collaboration with the SOC team to derive insights and implement measures that strengthen Specialized’s security posture.
• Maintain effective communication channels with internal stakeholders and MCN customers to ensure timely reporting of security incidents and regular dissemination of security updates, in alignment with the directives of the GM.
• Coordinate with the Strategy and Governance sector to ensure that all security technical and operational records meet compliance and regulatory standards.
• Apply routine updates, patches, and enhancements to security systems and software, ensuring alignment with global cybersecurity and threat intelligence standards.
• Collaborate with Tech CoE and Tech Operations teams to enforce the cybersecurity framework across all systems, and contribute to monitoring and reporting performance to the Cybersecurity unit under Strategy and Governance, in alignment with the directives of the GM.
• Ensure the full execution of all responsibilities outlined in the approved mandate, in alignment with the directives of the GM, to support Specialized’s Security Operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree
