About the Role
The Standby Man is a vital safety support role responsible for monitoring workers operating in confined spaces, hazardous zones, or high-risk environments. This position ensures that all safety protocols are strictly followed and that immediate assistance is available in case of emergencies. The Standby Man acts as the primary safety observer, maintaining constant communication with workers and ensuring that all safety equipment is functional and accessible. This role is essential for preventing accidents, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a secure work environment on industrial project sites.
Duration: 3 Months (Extendable)

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor workers performing tasks in confined spaces or hazardous areas.
- Ensure all safety procedures, permits, and protocols are strictly followed.
- Maintain continuous communication with workers inside confined spaces.
- Verify that all safety equipment (gas detectors, harnesses, ventilation, etc.) is available and operational.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and alert supervisors when necessary.
- Assist in hazard identification and risk mitigation activities.
- Maintain accurate records of safety observations and permit compliance.
- Support the safety team in enforcing site-wide safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in safety monitoring or similar roles in industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of confined space entry procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to remain alert, attentive, and calm under pressure.
- Basic safety training or certifications are highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a responsible, disciplined work ethic.
- Ability to handle emergency situations with confidence and clarity.
- Valid documentation as listed in the requirements section.
