Assistant Manager Workshop

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Assistant Manager for our workshop, who will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency in workflow, and supporting the workshop manager in maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills to supervise and guide technical teams, optimize resource utilization, and implement best practices in maintenance and repair work. They will be responsible for coordinating schedules, managing inventory, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, the Assistant Manager Workshop should possess excellent problem-solving abilities, the capability to enhance productivity through process improvements, and a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges. A background in workshop management, hands-on experience with technical tools, and familiarity with industry trends are essential for this role. <b>Key Responsibilities:</b> <br> <br>

• Ensure compliance with company PPM and maintenance schedules, and carry out service and repairs for all company Vehicles and machinery and for breakdown-related activities as required. <br>
• Responsible for optimum utilization of resources available for the workshop in terms of machinery, manpower, utilities, consumables, etc, for the various jobs. <br>
• Manage the daily workshop's job allocation and job flow, including job scheduling and labour allocation. <br>
• To ensure that the activities of the workshop are well coordinated in order to complete the jobs received within the allocated time frame, quality parameters, class requirements and budgeted cost. <br>
• To assist in developing and implementing procedures for requisition of materials and other resources from stores and purchasing. Follow up on the purchasing orders related to the Workshop. <br>
• Coordinate with Operations for planning and scheduling of activities prior to commencement of work in order to ensure maximum availability. <br>
• Coordinate with other departments within the Company as and when required. <br>
• Completion and submission of all required reports to support the workshop activities, including damage reports, repair procedures, quality tests and results, completion reports, additional work reports, etc. <br>
• Ensure compliance and adhere to the delegation authority procedure as set out by the Fleet Manager. <br>
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System procedures as well as Veolia standards. <br>
• Manage the VESE security team. <br>
• Identify training needs based on skills gaps and career progress. <br>
• Conduct a regular performance appraisal for the Workshop Department Employees. <br>
• Set plans and objectives for the subordinates to guarantee the implementation of services within the company's policies and objectives. <br>
• Support for designing a Standard Operating Procedure for the Workshop Department. <br>
• Follow up on the maintenance and repairs at all sites related to the Workshop. <br>
• Providing the Technicians with the needed tools. <br>
• Preparing a monthly evaluation. <br>
• Test new employees at all levels within his/her scope of responsibilities. <br>
• Manage external service suppliers and subcontractors. <br>
• Follow up on the accidents with the insurance representative. <br>
• Supervising Technicians regarding applying safety and hygiene procedures. <br>
• Read the HSE Policy and understand the HSE responsibilities. <br>
• Set a good example for their team by working safely, following the House Rules and Procedures. <br>
• Make the Workshop team members aware of their responsibilities and the importance of following the House Rules, procedures and Work Instructions. <br>
• Take every opportunity to talk to the team members about HSE issues. <br>
• Focus attention on supervising the most hazardous activities. <br>
• Ensure that the team members follow the job safety plans and Permit to Work requirements. <br>
• Understand his/her role in the event of an emergency and participate in emergency drills and exercises. <br>
• Support the team members to achieve their tasks and targets. <br>
• Involved in the development and review of the risk assessment and continual improvement. <br>
• Provide accurate information to audit teams. <br>
• Continual development of the skills and training of the Workshop Department team. <br>
• Ensure each employee of the Workshop Department owns an identified action plan in line with the department and company objectives. <br>
• Ensure the correct implementation of company policy and procedures in the Workshop Department. <br>
• Undertake any other reasonable work or related task at the request of the Fleet Manager. <br> <br> <br> <b>- Requirements:</b> <br> <br>
• UAE valid light vehicle driving license is a must. <br>
• Good knowledge of heavy vehicle service & repair. <br>
• Good knowledge of HSE-related topics. <br>
• Experience working in a workshop environment. <br>
• Project management experience. <br>
• Innovative and continuous improvement mindset. <br>
• Effective problem identification, solving, and implementation improvement. <br>
• Ability to think strategically, Ability to manage and motivate staff members in a multicultural work environment. <br>
• Ability to make effective decisions, excellent time management and delegation. <br>
• Excellent analytical capabilities, strong work ethic built on teamwork. <br>
• Prior experience working with CMMS systems. <br>
• Good working knowledge of all relevant aspects of Google Suite. <br>
• Good knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office and related apps. <br>
• Hold a relevant educational qualification from a well-recognized and reputable academic institution, fit for the required job function. <br>
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the same field in a well-reputed organization.
