About the Role
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered heavy machinery used in construction. This role requires expertise in diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance of hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions.
Requirements
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b> <br> <br>
- Inspect heavy equipment for faults, wear, or damage and diagnose mechanical issues. <br>
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, greasing, and filter replacements. <br>
- Repair and overhaul hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical components. <br>
- Utilize computer diagnostics to assess engine performance and troubleshoot issues. <br>
- Test repaired machinery to verify proper functionality and operational efficiency. <br>
- Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs, replacements, and maintenance schedules. <br>
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in equipment servicing. <br>
- Collaborate with equipment operators and supervisors to address mechanical concerns. <br>
- Order and replace defective parts, ensuring timely availability of necessary components. <br>
- Conduct emergency repairs on-site when required to minimize downtime. <br> <br> <br>

- Diploma in Diesel Mechanics or a related technical field. <br>
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair. <br>
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components. <br>
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment. <br>
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. <br>
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills. <br>
- Familiarity with safety protocols and industry standards for heavy machinery maintenance.
