About the Role
A Duct Technician is responsible for installing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining HVAC ducting systems that support ventilation, air distribution, and climate control in buildings. This role is critical for ensuring efficient airflow, proper temperature regulation, and compliance with HVAC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair duct systems for HVAC units
- Fabricate ducts using sheet metal tools and equipment
- Seal, insulate, and align ducts to ensure efficient airflow
- Perform maintenance on ventilation systems, exhaust fans, and air distribution networks
- Read and interpret HVAC drawings, duct layouts, and technical diagrams
- Conduct inspections to identify leaks, blockages, or damaged duct sections
- Work closely with HVAC technicians, supervisors, and project teams
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of duct fabrication, installation, and maintenance
- Ability to work with sheet metal tools, cutting machines, and measuring instruments
- Understanding of HVAC systems and airflow principles
- Experience in construction, facility maintenance, or industrial HVAC projects
- Good physical strength and ability to work at heights or in tight spaces
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
