About the Role

The Inspection Engineer provides critical technical support to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of Saudi Kayan’s static equipment and piping systems. The role focuses on resolving inspection‑related issues, analyzing failure mechanisms, supporting design and construction reviews, and overseeing investigations, repairs, and modifications across SK facilities.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide advanced technical expertise to Area Inspection Engineers for failure analysis of static equipment and piping, including support during TAM and shutdown activities.
  • Lead and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or recurring failures, delivering long‑term corrective actions and reliability improvement recommendations.
  • Review and validate engineering packages prepared by PD&C for all static equipment‑related scopes.
  • Collaborate with Inspection, RBI, Process, and Operations teams to develop Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) and ensure effective implementation in accordance with API guidelines.
  • Prepare corrosion loops and circuits for new and existing projects, ensuring alignment with inspection strategies.
  • Develop, review, and monitor Critical Process Parameters (CPPs), reporting and investigating any deviations.
  • Evaluate modification or replacement needs for major equipment through ALA studies and technical assessments.
  • Review and approve vendor inspection activities and documentation, including welding procedures, NDT reports, coating systems, and temporary repair procedures.
  • Review RBI‑based inspection plans, ensuring integration of IOW changes, MOC updates, and operational feedback. Perform RBI analysis and reassessment as required.
  • Ensure full compliance with Saudi Kayan OMS requirements and corporate inspection standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid certifications in API 510, API 570, and API 653 or API 571.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the inspection field.

Job‑Specific Skills

  • Valid certifications: API 510, API 570, API 653 or API 571.
  • Strong expertise in conventional NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT) and advanced NDT techniques (IRIS, MFL, TOFD, PAUT).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
