About the Role
The Procurement Officer plays a key role in ensuring the continuous availability of materials, supplies, and services required for smooth operational performance. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating competitive prices, and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies. The officer is responsible for evaluating suppliers, preparing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with internal departments to meet operational needs efficiently. Strong analytical skills, market awareness, and the ability to manage multiple procurement cycles are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery timelines
- Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documents
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Coordinate with finance, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery
- Track and resolve issues related to delayed shipments, quality concerns, or discrepancies
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant educational qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing roles
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor‑management skills
- Ability to analyze market trends and evaluate supplier performance
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement systems
